BITZER SE is one of the world's leading air conditioning companies and also specialises in the area of refrigerator technology.
A quick run through the decades
Founded in 1934 as Apparatebau für Kältetechnik, Martin BITZER began manufacturing 2-cylinder DC piston compressorsand expansion valves. By the late 1950s, this company had expanded onto a global platform and was exporting its products to more than 50 countries worldwide. More than 200 employees were now on Bitzer's payroll and by 1979, annual profits of more than 30 million German marks were being generated. This company was now under the direction of Peter Schaufler, the son of a graduate engineer who has taken BITZER SE to a new level of enterprising. Building more than 30 subsidiaries in countries such as the USA, China, Portugal, Brazil, South Africa and Australia, BITZER has become a dominant shareholder in numerous successful organisations. BITZER SE has also been the recipient of numerous awards due to their insistence on environmental policies which stipulate the reserved use of natural resources. The company is now headquartered in Sindelfingen, Germany and in 2011, roughly 2900 employees helped to generate sales of 630 million Euros.
