About CMS Industries
Founded in Italy in 1969, CMS Industries is a worldwide operation and now has international offices in the United Kingdom, Germany, France, China and the United States. During the initial years, CMS SpA concentrated mainly on producing machinery for use in the woodworking industry and today the company is still recognised as a world leader in the manufacture of CNC machining centres. Over time, CMS has diversified into many other sectors in addition to wood. In 1980, the company produced its first CNC machining centre for use on stone before expanding into the plastics, eyewear and glass industries.
In 2005, CMS SpA gained a majority share in the Italian company Tecnocut, a producer of waterjet cutting systems. A year later, a new division of the company was born with the creation of CMS Plast, focusing on the plastics industry. Today, both Tecnocut and CMS SpA. Plast are wholly-owned brands under the CMS Industries banner.
